About Tambunting Pawnshop

Tambunting Pawnshop is one of the Philippines' oldest and most respected pawnshop chains, with a history spanning several decades. Unlike the large national chains, Tambunting has built its reputation on expertise in precious metals and luxury items — particularly gold bullion, coins, and high-end watches.

The chain is especially popular among collectors, investors, and individuals with high-value items who want a pawnshop with genuine expertise in appraisal. Tambunting's appraisers are known for their knowledge of gold purity, watch movements, and precious stone grading.

With over 200 branches concentrated in Metro Manila and key provincial cities, Tambunting may not have the widest network, but its branches are strategically located in commercial areas, markets, and business districts where high-value transactions are common.

BSP License: All Tambunting Pawnshop branches are fully licensed and regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) under the Pawnshop Regulation Act. The maximum interest rate of 3.5% per month is set by BSP Circular 1119 (2021).

How to Pawn at Tambunting: Step by Step

01

Prepare Your Item

For gold: clean the item. For watches: bring original box, papers, and certificate. For diamonds: bring GIA or appraisal certificate if available.

02

Visit a Branch

Go to the nearest Tambunting branch. For luxury watches above ₱200,000, call ahead to confirm a certified watch appraiser is on duty that day.

03

Appraisal

The appraiser tests gold purity (acid test or XRF), inspects watch condition and authenticity, or grades diamonds. This takes 10–30 minutes for complex items.

04

Accept & Get Cash

Review the loan offer. If acceptable, sign the pawn ticket and receive cash. Keep your ticket safe — you need it to redeem your item within 4 months.
